The house is situated in the midst of the rolling Chiltern Hills and is surrounded by picturesque villages linked by an extensive network of bridleways, footpaths and green lanes. The ancient Icknield Way Long Distance trail passes just two miles to the north of us, and is easily accessible via green lane from West Street , Lilley. There are many pleasant pubs in the area, three within easy walking distance of the house.
For those wishing to use us as a base for touring the historic sites and buildings of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, we are within easy reach of Roman Verulamium and St Albans Abbey, George Bernard Shaw’s House at Ayot St. Lawrence, Knebworth House, Hatfield House, the county town of Hertford, Chiltern Open Air Museum, Woburn Abbey and many many more.
